Des Brophy worked for the Sheffield Police force for 22 years. An element of being on the ‘beat’ would be to observe people’s behaviour and it would often be the ‘rogues’ that would reveal themselves as the most interesting characters! It is these amusing events that now inspire Des’ humorous images.
His quirky watercolours in his colourful yet subtle pallet will always put a smile on your face! It is his humorous outlook on life from a different viewpoint that allows the viewer to observe everyday people in a variety of amusing situations.
